“Sweetish” Meatballs

  • For the meatballs:
  • lbs ground beef
  • 1 p cooked rice measured after cooking
  • 2 cu applesauce
  • 2 medi onions grated
  • 1-1/2 tssalt
  • Freshly grnd pepper to taste
  • For the sauce:
  • 1 cube beef uillon
  • 1 Tbs hot wate
  • 1 cup tomato sau
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • tsp coriander
  • 1 t garlic powder
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1/2 tsp ogano
  • 1 tsp of own sugar


  • Prehe the oven to 350°Knead all the meatball ingredients together. Form into medium-size meatballs and place in a roasting pan or baking pan large enough to hold them all in one layer, preferably not touching.
  • Dissolve the bouillon cube in the water, helping it along by crushing with a spoon and stirring. Mix it together with all the other sauce ingredients. Pour the sauce over the meatballs.
  • Bake for one hour. Serves approximately 6."
